Summer Days!

Yes, I know, It has been a while...yell at my Mom! She does all the typing for me anyway.

So, summer is here, hot, lazy days. Would someone tell my parents that is how it is supposed to be? You aren't supposed to lay 2 cubic yards of mulch in 90+ degree weather! No, that is when you sit in the pool, put your cute, sweet little dog in a tube in there with you, and float around to your heart's content!

But seriously, I love summer, friends stopping in to have a drink, nice, long walks around the yard, Sadie swimming in the pond and digging rocks out (how she does that, I won't even guess!), sitting by a fire in the evening.

Tonight, the boy is having a bonfire with a bunch of friends...another great sign of summer! Lots of people who will want to pet me too! Can't wait!

June is a busy month

WOW! This month is just flying by! Mom and Dad are so busy at work, and with the boy, it seems like they never have time to rub my belly! The boy is busy with end of year stuff at school, and even though the girl is home from college, she seems to be working all the time. No wonder Daddy doesn't like June! I know he would rather be home petting me and throwing the ball. But, I try to understand and to help. I have made sure that they spend extra time with me; I take a RRReeaallYY long time to eat my food, I make sure I stay outside a lot longer than the other dogs, and I wake Dad and Mom up extra early in the morning, just so they can spend more time with me! I sure hope they appreciate it! Pretty soon, it will be July and life will be calmer, and hotter!

When is this hot weather going to end?!

It is so hot! I can't stand it! I usually like to cuddle with Mom and Dad, or under the covers, but the past couple of days, I AM HOT! What is it? Am I am going to turn 2 this year, maybe I am getting old? Anyway, It is so hard to stay cool right now! I am sweating, I heard Mom and Dad say it was 93 degrees yesterday, and today was even hotter. I don't like it this hot, Lucie doesn't want to play, Sam doesn't want to play, Sadie is grumpy and I don't even want to play. When is this hot weather going to end!?

Slippery Floors!

They put in new floors and they ar making my life difficult. I can't seem to get a grip on them. I will be chasing Oreo or Abbie and when I hit that floor, I go flying! I need to learn how to use that to my advantage! I am sure I will figure it out. But it does make it difficult to jump up onto our beds (I mean couches). Guess Mom and Dad are going to have to listen to us whine until they pick us up. They are very slow to train, but Lucie and I are working on them!

Prom Night

Last night was Prom Night. There were all these pretty girls here, and everyone loved me! (Of Course!) I am so glad the boy has nice friends. They all came in and couldn't wait to pet me and let me sit on their laps! One of the girls just kept coming back for more! She was my favorite! But, the kids were so much fun. Even the guys were great! They played music and video games and had lots of fun together. The girl had her talkative friend come over too. I like listening to them talk, they go nonstop and are a blast! I hope there is a prom next weekend too, I just love having all the company!

Katie

See the thinks I have to put up with. Boy, living with cats isn't easy. Katie had the nerve to lay on MY couch! Can you believe it? Then, when I asked her to move, she just layed there! So I climbed up and laid down to stake my claim and then, of all things, she started cleaning me! Good thing my brothers weren't looking! I wouldn't be able to live it down. But, I have to admit, it felt kind of nice to get my ears cleaned. Just don't tell anyone!

Changes!

There are changes again! I don't like changes!

Mom and Dad went shopping this morning...came home with a new TV, TV stand and computer desk, then spent three hours putting it all together! Ok, So how do I know which room to lay in? The new TV, or the old? Where Sam is, so we can keep each other warm, or where Lucie is, just because I want to bug her?! I really like the picture on the new TV, but I like the old TV too? I am so confused! But don't you worry, I was right there helping them put everything together...I know they couldn't do it without my help. I read the directions for Dad, and then helped him put it all together. I know, I am such a good Dog!

You know what really bothered me the most? They didn't bring anything home for me! Can you believe it? They even bought Blue Bird Houses, But Nothing For ME! Do they like the birds better than they like me?

The weather is so warm today, I heard Dad say it reached 84! Summer must be here! Talk about a beautiful day to spend outside? It was wonderful!

Spring!

I love this weather...we have been outside, playing in the yard, almost all day! Dad is driving around on the 4 wheeler with this big, round thing behind him...heard mom say it was doing a good job flattening out the yard? What does that mean..

Anyway, we went outside to play, and I was yelling at the neighbor kids playing across the street, and Mean Mom put the bark collar on me. WTH!!! Doesn't she know I am the only one who can keep the neighbors in line? They can't keep walking by our house and playing in their yards like they have been. Someone needs to set some limits for them! Boy, she doesn't realize how out of control they are going to get if I can't talk to them.

So, I spent the afternoon laying in the sun on the back deck. Boy, this is a rough life for a dog!

Walk Today?

Sadie feels better...it has stopped raining, although the sun still is not out. I really want to go for a walk today. I love this time of year, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect walking weather. Maybe Mom and Dad will walk today since Sadie feels better.

Sadie Doesn't Feel Well

What's up with this? Sadie has been throwing up all day, so all we get with 53 degrees and sunshine is playing through the yard? I want to go for a walk!!! I know Sadie doesn't feel well, and really, I feel bad, but I want to go out and explore! What is up with that! It is wonderful outside!! Come on Sadie, get with it!

OK, and what is with this Wii thing? Dad has already hit Katie and Zach with it? Why is it so fun? I want to play too!!!

I think they figured it out!

I went for a walk today, just me and Mom...and I was having so much fun, I forgot to pull on the leash and pretend like I was choking...do you think she knows I was faking it the other day...

Mom said it was cold out, so we only walked for a mile or so. Sadie was at the groomers, so it was just me and MOM...that was awesome! I rarely get one on one time. But I was so excited, there were so many smells, the neighbor dogs were trying to get me to come an play... I forgot to pretend that I cannot stand the leash....darn!

I think Mom and Dad are on to me!

Going for a Walk!

I absolutely love going for walks! OMG! The smells that are out there in the world! Mom and Dad have been taking us for walks the past couple of nights, and it has been awesome! Tonight it was Sadie, Lucie and me and we had so much fun! (Although I did feel bad for Sam but Mom said he couldn't afford to use up the extra calories) Mom left Sam a bowl of ice instead!

There are so many kids and dogs in our neighborhood. They come over and pet me and I just love it! Then, while we were walking, Sadie found a piece of Easter chocolate! I was so jealous! But Dad yelled, Mom took it out of her mouth and so I figured she must be in some kind of trouble. Glad it wasn't me, cuz Dad said it wasn't good for her...

The only problem is, they make us wear these things called leashes???!!! I hate it! It makes me choke and gag and I can't go where I really want to go. What is their problem? Tonight, the neighbor dog was walking behind us and growling and I couldn't go and bark back at him. Besides, it makes me choke...what is up with that? Why can't I walk where I want to walk, life just isn't fair!!

Spring is here!

Signs of Spring are all around...I can see grass, Sam is uncovering more poop, Lucie is finding the bird seed that has been hiding all winter under the snow and Sadie has a new spring in her step, wanting to play ball and chasing the squirrels into the woods. I love this time of year! It stays light later, and the weather is warmer, but I really love the wind! The way it blows my ears back, sends leaves racing across the yard, and just brings all these wonderful smells into the yard for me to check out! Spring is Here!

This is the Life!

Boy, this is the life! It may be cold outside, but laying here, safe and snug inside, the sun feels really great! The only problem is that I have to share the sunshine with all these other animals! I wonder why Dad and Mom don't like to lay here with us? I wouldn't lick their faces, really, I wouldn't...but I can't promise what Sam and Lucie would do. So, I decided to let Katie lay with us. She said she would clean my ears if I let her have Prime Spot in the sunshine! What a deal! I think I got the better of her, but she doesn't realize it. The only problem is that Zach (the tough cat) decided he wants to lay with us too. He is really pushy! How dare he think he can take up some of my sunshine!

Dad took us outside today, it was a lot colder out there than it looked. He cleaned up some of the yard (wouldn't let Sam help!), but got mad at me when I kept warning the neighbors not to come to close! They really should know just how tough I am. I do have a house to protect, you know...

Who Says Cats are Smarter than Dogs???

Mom was nice enough to take this picture for me. This is Abby, she is one of the four PITA's, I mean cats, that live with me. Every morning Abby thinks she is so cool because she can jump in the tub and she usually makes sure to do it while I am watching because she knows my short legs will never make it. Most mornings, it is empty...but boy did she get a surprise this morning!!! :-D And she wasn't very happy about it either! That'll show her!

It's Raining!

It is raining today, not only is it raining, it is pouring! I was outside an hour ago, and look at my hair, it is still wet and sticking up! You would think Mom or Dad would blow it dry for me, but Noooo, they just look at me and laugh and make fun of me. Don't they realize that hurts my feelings? I pride myself on how good I look and I really don't appreciate being made fun of. They don't make fun of Lucie's hair (of course it really doesn't look any different!). We were supposed to get a snowstorm, but instead, we got all this rain. I can't even walk outside without my tail getting soaking wet. I don't think I have ever seen so much water in my life!

Laying in the Sun

What a nice day out today! We had sunshine, snow on the ground and Dad Snowblowing! It was so relaxing laying in the sun, getting a tan, chasing the cats away so they didn't get a sunburn, good thing I am around to protect them! Then, Dad went outside and snowblowed a path for us to play in! Good thing too, cuz Lucie is a baby and doesn't like to run through the deep snow. I can though, cuz I am bigger than her! I just love playing outside in the snow, everything is clean and white, I can follow the squirrels path better and sometimes the snow is deep enough that we don't get zapped on the invisible fence and I can make it all the way to the woods, although, not today, sadly...but we still had fun out there. Now, Dad and Mom are relaxing and watching the race and life is good, we can all curl up on the couch, snuggle with them and keep warm. My kind of day!

Wrestling!

I just wanted to show you how much fun my house is on a Sunday Morning! I know that EVERYONE in the family looks forward to watching Lucie and I wrestle, especially at 7:00 in the morning! Great way to start your day :-D

Now you can also see my brother Sam, he is just watching this time, but usually, he is right in the middle of things, and boy is he a good wrestler, he can pin me with only half a paw! What a BLAST! Come join us!

Squirrels!!!

Let me tell you about the squirrels that have been coming to our yard. There are at least 8 of them and they are terrible creatures. Can you believe that they will not listen to me? They won't get off the bird feeders no matter how much I bark at them. They even sit there looking at me as if to tease me! I know they are laughing because of the invisible barrier that I can't seem to get through...the one Sam gets nose prints all over. I have decided to make it my mission today to bark as much as possible at these squirrels and scare the crap out of them so that maybe they will stay out of my yard and stop teasing me and my brothers and sister.

So what is this Valentine's Day all About anyway?

I hear today is Valentine's Day...Anyone want to explain...

All I can figure is that everyone is getting treats but us dogs! What is up with that? Now, I know chocolate isn't good for us dogs, but a little piece once in a while can't hurt, can it? And all these hugs and niceness...gosh, makes me want to puke! All that is important is that there is someone around to rub my belly...think you can manage that? And a little trip back into the woods wouldn't hurt either, just don't tell Mom and Dad, OK?

Boy, Am I in TROUBLE

Let me start by saying that I was only following Sadie, she is the oldest in the family and I figure if it is OK for her, then it must be OK for me too!
It all started when Mom let us out to play in the snow. She was doing laundry, and we knew we had a few extra minutes before she would make us come in. Now, Sadie doesn't have an Invisible Fence Collar on, I heard Mom and Dad say it was because she knows how to behave and doesn't go far. But Sam, Lucie and I are forced into wearing these torturous devices. So, as usual, Sadie goes off into the woods, just far enough to make sure the squirrels stay up in the tree and don't come over into our bird feeders. Then she looked at the three of us and started teasing and taunting us! Well, we all looked at each other and decided that if we were going to get tortured, may as well make it worth our while...so we all ran for it. Sam told me that if you run fast enough it only hurts for a second or two. He was right! It was so much fun!!! Oh my God, talk about wonderful smells and fun and trees and rocks and sticks! It was like being in heaven, I swear!

...Then Mom figured it out! Oh shit, were we in trouble! I really knew we were in for it because Mom was yelling and clapping her hands and Sam went running, he isn't stupid like Lucie and I are. Once Mom put her boots on, I got so scared I didn't know where to run... So I just sat there until she came over to me and gave me a push in the right direction. Boy was she pissed at us. Lucie went running (never knew she could go that fast), but I passed her by in 2 seconds flat.

I guess I am going to have to sit on the couch, all by myself the rest of the day, Mom still doesn't look happy and I know darn well that she is going to tell Dad on us as soon as he gets home.

My Visit to Mom's Work

Yesterday was the best! The girl and her friend brought me to Mom's work. Now, don't get me wrong, at first I was a little nervous about where we were going. I thought for sure we were on our way to the vet and it was time for shots and ears and being poked and all that stuff that really is not fun at all. But then, they let me out of the car and there was Mom just waiting for me! I was so excited. Next thing I knew I was being hugged and loved by all these people! It was awesome! And then, they put me down, unhooked that stupid leash that chokes the heck out of me, and I was free! I was so happy, and there were so many people around, I didn't know what to do! I just ran and ran and ran around in circles! It was the best! Then even more people came in and pet me and picked me up and cuddled me. Gosh, life just doesn't get any better than that! I know I am cute, but with everyone petting my ears and rubbing my belly...WOW!!! I hope I get to go to Mom's work more often!

All the Visitors!

Today was fun! I chased Lucie around a few times...she can never outrun me! I took Sam outside for Mom and showed him how to walk across the pond when the ice is thin, I sat with Dad and helped him watch the race, and I cleaned all the ice cubes out of the water bowl so no one hurt their teeth on them. Oh yeah, I also chased all the neighbors away so they didn't keep walking in front of the house!

Boy, I was busy. But I still found the time to keep Katie warm and let her clean my ears. Then we decided that Sadie needed some exercise so I took her ball away and made her chase me around for it.

I have to say, my favorite part is that the girl and her friend are here for a few days. I always love it when there is someone new to give me some extra attention. He seems really nice too, never minds petting me when I jump on his lap and remind him that the way to a dogs heart is through rubbing his ears!!! :-)

And now, the boy has friends over and they are all down the cellar playing rock band. As long as they all pet me before they leave, I am ok with all the extra company!

Being Helpful

I enjoy being helpful. Why, just today, I helped Mom with the work she brought home this afternoon, kept her lap warm and cleaned her face for her...then pressed a few buttons on the laptop. I helped Lucie get some exercise, made sure to chase her a few times around the house while Mom was trying to work. Then I helped Dad clean out the litter box, made sure that there wasn't as much in there so he didn't have to work so hard. I also helped Mom cook dinner, she was able to step on my tail a few times and I made sure to clean up anything she might have spilled on the floor because she tripped over me!!! Now, I am resting for the evening, because I have to make sure that I am awake enough when Mom and Dad go to bed so that they can wake up a few times during the night to take a rest stop if they need to! Boy, I really enjoy being helpful!

I just wanted to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday! He is 46 years old Young!!! :-) and every year he is getting younger because he plays with me!!!

$92 worth of Dog Food

Ok, let's talk about this. If you have been reading my stories, then you know Sam has been sick. What I don't get is why Mom and Dad spend so much money on him? Don't they realize that no matter how much money they spend, he is still going to eat dog poop! (And cat poop too if he can get to it before me!) So I heard them talking how they spent $92 on Sam's food and it is only going to last him 2 weeks!!! Now, I want to know this, when they buy presents for the boy and girl, they make sure the spend about the same amount of money...does that mean I have $92 worth of bones in my future??? That would be awesome!!!
But seriuosly, if the food helps Sam to feel better, I guess it will be worth it. He really is fun to wrestle with, although I kind of like the fact that lately, he is a "lightweight"!

Thunder and Lightening

This morning, while Dad was getting ready for work, there was this really loud noise. Dad said it was thunder, and then there was a huge bright light! I thought someone was taking my picture again because everyone loves to take my picture :-) For some reason, Sadie hightailed it right into the laundry room. She was shaking and wouldn't talk to me. I tried to tell her it was OK, that Dad knew what the loud noise was and I am not afraid of getting my picture taken, but she just wouldn't listen! I mean, the noise wasn't that bad, no louder than when the boy plays drums, know what I mean? Well, anyway, talk about weird weather. That was today. After the loud noise and stuff, it started to rain, then it started to snow, it was very windy and very cold all day. I was even too cold to make my snow angels! Now that's cold. I made Mom promise to take a picture of my next snow angel to show you, so keep on checking my page so you don't miss it!

Oreo's in my bed!

Ok, this is a picture of Oreo in my bed. Now, I don't usually mind sharing, but Oreo is not very nice to me! So, how dare she sleep in my bed! Mom took a picture for me so you could see what I am talking about. Now, I love my crate, it is where I sleep when Mom and Dad are not home. I have my own blanket, toys and water dish. It is my favorite spot to sleep besides with Mom and Dad! But Oreo is such a rude cat! She usually walks by with her nose and tail up in the air! She sits on a chair and swats me whenever I come by and sniff her to say hi! She always complain when I try to play with her and she runs to Mom and Dad every time I try to play chase with her! So, what gives her the right to think she can sleep in my bed? It just isn't right! No Fair!!!

Sam's Problems

I overheard Dad and Mom talking. Sam has something called E-Coli??? I don't really know what that means, but they sounded like it was pretty bad. After all this time that Sam has been sick, I guess they finally know what is wrong with him. He got so skinny! But, I have to admit that it really didn't slow him down any. He is still a pretty good wrestler, as you can tell from the video on my last blog!!! :-) He has to take more medicine, but they tell me he is going to be OK in no time at all! I sure hope so, it isn't much fun wrestling with him when you can feel every one of his bones...I can't wait to have my brother back in shape! I have great games planned for us! :-D

Martin Luther King Day!

Ok, so I really don't know what Martin Luther King Day is, but I do know that Mom and the boy both got to stay home with me today :-) Poor Dad had to go to work :-( Anytime I get extra company, besides my sister Lucie of course, is a good day to me. I have been keeping an eye on everyone for Mom today. She won't have to worry about anything with me on guard. I chased the squirrels away this morning, made sure Oreo didn't come wandering around and bugging anyone, slept on the blanket that Lucie warmed up for me and barked as the snowmobilers drove by. I also made sure that no one got too warm laying in the sun for too long. Wouldn't want them to get a sunburn!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! I got to play in the snow again! That is my favorite! Mom took pictures for me to share with all of you...Enjoy! :-D

Me and Sam Wrestling Today

Mom's Home

Oh My God! Mom is home early again! I am so excited, I can't stop running in circles!!! Hope Lucie is ready to play. Sam and Sadie are wrestling and they won't let me join in, so Lucie is my partner for the day! Here we go, round and round, through the kitchen, into the family room, zip through the living room, dining room and back to the kitchen. Boy this is a blast!!! :-D

Ok, time to rest for a minute. Good thing Mom likes it when I sit on her lap and lick her face so that she can rub my belly. Nothing finishes up a good round of wrestling like a belly rub...

Sadie and Sam are finally tired too. They are both drinking out of the water dish at the same time; and there goes Lucie, as soon as the sun comes out, she won't play with me, just wants to lay in the sun and take a nap...how boring! I have been cooped up all morning in my crate and it is time to run! I bet I can get her to wake up! :-)

Lucie and Oreo

I was trying to lay with Mom this afternoon. I could tell she wasn't feeling well, and I know how much she enjoys it when I lay on her and lick her face so she can go to sleep. But then Lucie and Oreo start butting in trying to lay with Mom too and they are a pain in the butt. I mean, jeepers, all they do is lay there! How can that be any fun for Mom? So I was barking at Oreo trying to get her to liven up a little and Lucie starts growling. So, mom gets mad at them and kicks us all off. Boy, they sure know how to ruin a good thing!

What Does Come Mean to you?

I am trying to figure this out. My Mom and Dad keep yelling 'come'...what does it mean? Whenever they yell it, I sit there and wait for them to come to me, but they don't, so I am really getting confused. Then they yell 'house' and I wait for them to go into the house, but, again, they don't. I have been working for a long time now on training them, and for some reason, they just can't get it. I think that after a certain age, (not saying they are old or anything like that) humans just can't be trained anymore. But, as any good dog will do, I will keep on working on them and give them every opportunity to improve. I have noticed that their voices are now able to yell much louder, so apparently, they are getting better at it!

The Boy

The boy is playing drums! I love when he plays drums. I can lay on the floor and my belly shakes (plus other things I won't mention here)! It is a blast! Dad seems to like the song he is playing. I do too. Sounds like 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush. He is a really good drummer. I don't think Lucie likes it though, cuz she is hiding her head under Mom's leg.

Mom and Dad went to watch the boy play volleyball tonight. I don't really know what volleyball is, but the boy really likes it. I know they use a BIG white ball and I heard them talking about how the boy hit the ball so hard, he hurt one of the other players. They were laughing and talking about how tall the boy is and that helps him hit it over something called a net. I guess he can jump up and hit it over the net so hard that the other kids were backing away. That sounds like a blast! I wish I could play volleyball. I think I will ask Mom and Dad if I can go to the next game. I bet I am tall enough!

Lazy Sunday Afternoons

There is nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon. You get to race around and wrestle with your brothers and sisters, go outside to play for a while and then curl up with Mom and Dad when they finally sit down. Lucie is in one of her moods, she just keeps trying to curl up with Mom cuz she thinks Mom is going to protect her! No way! I know she is really just playing hard to get and so I make sure to chase her right of Mom's lap and then we can run around and around and around the house. I think Mom and Dad really like it when we do that, cuz they are always shouting and cheering us on! Then Sadie starts to bark and I think she is telling us to go faster! So, of course, we go faster! Then Sam starts to join in and we really get the fur flying! It is so funny to watch him run into the table after we run under it! :-) Mom and Dad don't know that we do that on purpose!!! But Sam's a good kid, he is still under the weather, but he is lucky cuz he gets fed special now, some kind of juicy canned food that I can't seem to sneak in and grab when Dad gives it to him. But I am working on it. Betcha I will get it next time! Enjoy your Sunday!

Sleeping In

This morning I got to sleep in. The girl must not have had to work, because after Dad and Mom left for work, I was able to go back to bed. I could tell she really wanted me to sleep with her, she kept calling my name really loudly whenever I would bark at the neighbors. So I jumped right up into bed with her and gave her one of my best good morning kisses! Right in the Face! Everyone loves my kisses! Then I pushed everyone else out of the way and cuddled right up on top of her head to keep her warm. Everyone knows that most of your body heat escapes out of your head and I wanted to make sure she was nice and warm. :-) I can just bet that she hopes I get to go back to bed with her again tomorrow!

New Year's Day

Last night, Mom and Dad had a party! That was so much fun! There were lots of people here to pet me and I got to play in the snow and help Dad make a great big bonfire! Then, if I got too cold, I could go inside and play with the boy and girl and their friends. All I had to do to go back outside was scratch at the door and bark. I can't understand why everyone gets so upset with me? It is the only way the door opens, don't they know that? The best thing about a party is that everyone manages to drop some food and since I am faster than Lucie (and definitely cuter) I make it to the snacks first! Yum, Yum! I could've used some snow boots yesterday, though. Everytime I went outside, the snow would stick to my fur so bad that I had snowballs on my legs. Dad took my picture so I could show you what I mean. I must have looked pretty cute, because people kept on smiling at me and laughing. I just love having fun!
