It Snowed Last Night!

WOW, it snowed last night! This is so much fun! I get to make all kinds of new snow tracks! The snow is so deep, it goes all the way up to my ears! And it is so pretty on the trees, I will attach a picture later, so you can all see how pretty it looks out here. It also means that the squirrels and the deer will be around looking for food and that means even more fun for me! I get to chase them...HooRay!

Today is also the boy's birthday. I heard Mom and Dad say he is 17! WOW, isn't that like over 100 in dog years??? He is really old! :-) Happy Birthday TJ!

Today, we had so much fun! It was warm outside, so Dad and I took the rest of my brothers and sisters outside while we cleaned up the yard...I wonder why Sam keeps showing Dad what to clean up?? :-) Poor Sam, all he is trying to do is help pick things up and he keeps on getting yelled at. I thought they wanted the poop out of the yard? I am confused...Anyway, after we cleaned up, it was time for Lucie and I to play! I can outrun that little runt with my ears tied behind my head...slow poke! But she sure is fun to chase!

We also took all the Christmas Decorations down. Good thing I was there to help with that too. Zach was trying to sleep in the stable where the manger belongs, but I made sure he was awake in time for them to carry it down the cellar. Of course, then Zach and Abby both kept on bugging me to chase them, so I figured may as well make them both happy! Ahhh, what a great day!

Gotta Love The Weekend

It's Saturday, my favorite day of the week! I get to sleep in with mom and dad and then I can be pretty sure that someone will be home with us most of the day! We get to play outside, run to the woods, bark at the neighbors and just have all kinds of fun. Then when I come in, I can curl up with Katie (my favorite cat!) and she will clean my ears for me and just make sure I look as handsome as ever. Lucie tried to butt in, but I wouldn't let her get away with it! Now, mom is baking and I am sure she will spill or drop something soon...it's almost dinner time :-)

A Bone for Christmas!

So, what is this Christmas that everyone has been talking about? For weeks now, I keep hearing about this special day and from everything I can tell, today was that day? Gee, the boy got this new game called Rock Band where he sits and plays drums to all these songs on the TV and the girl keeps laying on my couch with a guitar and they are having so much fun, they forgot that brothers and sisters are supposed to be arguing and picking on each other! Plus they haven't been paying any attention to me at all! The girl got this thing called a camera...just so she could take more pictures of cute, little me!!! And all I got was this green bone and a little rabbit that squeaks when I bite it. And then Sam stole a piece of my bone from me! What is up with that?! So, I really don't think this Christmas thing is all it is cracked up to be, especially for us dogs! What was all the hype?

Family Time

Boy, I really like this time of year! The snow is flying and I am having so much fun! Running through the snow, with it flying up all around you, is something every dog should get to enjoy! I can't understand why my sister Lucie doesn't like it! Course, she doesn't like anything to do with the cold! But me, I could stay out and play for hours. The snow is great. I even make my own version of snow angels! Sam and Sadie like to play too, but Sam is always too interested in chasing the squirrels and the deer. They are much more fun to bark at...Sadie just gets mad at me and starts to tell me what to do. She really needs to lighten up and enjoy life a little more! Get out there and make some snowmen! I really like to bark at snowmen!!!

And Then There's Lucie...

Did you ever have one of those friends? You know the ones I mean. Everyone loves them, and you even like them, but sometimes you hate them because everyone likes them. Well, that's Lucie. She is so cute, everyone loves her. They all pick her up and pet her and want to take her home with them. We play together and wrestle and chase, and have so much fun. But sometimes, she really bugs me. I can never lay on mom's lap, because she is always there. At night, I try to get prime spot on the bed, but NOOOO, Lucie is there first! I mean, why do they let her get away with it??? She isn't as cute as me! She can't run as fast as me! And she has the WORST BREATH in the WORLD! I mean, you would really think that someone died in her mouth! Honestly. I try to help her out, I clean her teeth as often as she will let me, but it is beyond hope! There is just nothing more I can do. Mom even tries to brush her teet, give her milk bones, it's just gross! I put a picture of her for you to judge...what do you think? (Just don't forget to factor in the breath when you vote!)

My Brother, Sam

Well, my brother Sam is in the hospital :-( I miss him a lot. This morning, I tried really hard to cheer him up, and I think I was doing a good job, I was walking on him, trying to get that silly blanket off him, and I even tried to clean his teeth for him! But noooo! Mom said to leave him alone. Then Dad yelled at me too and I knew they were serious! They even let him stay inside when they went to work and I had to go out to the garage. But Mom came home at lunchtime and took him to see the Doctor and she said he wouldn't be home till tomorrow. I really miss him. It just isn't the same without him.

The thing I like best about Sam is that he is really good at getting yelled at and getting into trouble! I look like an angel compared to him! I really like to wrestle and play chase with him, too, because Lucie gets so mad when we leave her out! I guess I will just have to wait until tomorrow. It's going to be a long night!

Sadie, The Old Dog

Time for me to introduce Sadie, the oldest dog in the family. Sadie is around 75 years old (10 in people years). She is quite the goodie two-shoes...she really knows how to get my owners to yell at me and tell her what a good girl she is. She will start pawing at me, and act like she wants to play, and as soon as I start to really get into it, she starts barking and yelling at me. So, of course, they believe her and yell at me too! That is so not fair! :-(

Sadie has a lot of weird habits, too. I don't know why they let her get away with it. Sadie doesn't' seem to like loud noises. Take Thunderstorms, for example. Thunderstorms are the worst. Fireworks rate right up there with Thunderstorms. If she is outside, she runs to the door and just cries to be let in. If she is inside, she will go find something to hide under (like the table in the living room that I can barely get under and she weighs 40 pounds more than me!) She is such a sissy.

Then there is water. I have no clue what she thinks is so great about water. But boy, she absolutely loves it! When the boy splashes in the pool, or someone turns the hose on, she goes nuts. She actually tries to bite the water! What is up with that?

Now let me tell you the weirdest...Sadie likes shadows and shinies. If the sun is out, and someone starts to move, she chases their shadow and tries to catch it! People have so much fun torturing her! After all these years, you would think she would have figured out that she is not going to catch it! As for shinies, forget it. Shinies are those glints you get off something when the sun shines on it. Well, She is like a crack addict! She won't take her eyes off it. She tries to catch it, jump on it, and eat it. What the heck!? Can't she tell they won't taste good!

I guess the best part about Sadie, and yes, I am a little jealous, is the way she plays catch. I have heard stories about her when she was young. She used to play soccer with the boy and the girl when they were younger. She was the best goalie they ever saw. She could fit a soccer ball in her mouth and she even learned to throw it back to them! Now she usually plays with a tennis ball, but she is great at catching! That is something to see!

Lazy Afternoon

It is a lazy afternoon. Mom and the other brothers and sisters are just laying around in the living room, not doing much of anything! This is OK, for a little while, but man it does get boring! What the heck! How can they just lay around for so long! I mean it has been at least an hour. Do they really expect me to sit still for that long?! Oreo is starting to bug me. I mean, she sits on the chair in the dining room, stretches out her long tail and gives a little cat yawn. I know that what she really wants is for me to come over and play with her. But when I try, she gets mad and takes a swat at me. What’s up with that? If you don’t want to play, then don’t call me over! Geez! Then there is Lucie. I will tell you all about Lucie tomorrow, but for now, let’s just say that her favorite spot is curled up in a blanket, right next to mom. And she doesn’t share well either!!! Boy that makes me mad. So I got her back. I jumped up right on mom’s chest and got closer than Lucie! Ha Ha Ha! Gotcha! Then, of course, mom wanted to play, so she pushed me off so that I could jump back up! Yeah! That is one of my favorite games! I just love jumping on mom and dad! They are so good at that game, but everyone needs a little practice now and then. Weeee! OK, now that that is over, it is time to see if I can get Katie to clean my ears for me. She looks so lonely curled up on the pillow with her eyes shut tight! I will have to help her out. Ooops, I guess she needs a drink first, well, maybe I can keep her pillow warm for her while I wait for her to come back…

Let me tell you about Oreo!

So, Oreo is one of my sisters... She is black and white (obviously with a name like OREO!) and she is one weird cat. I mean, like on a scale of 1 to 10, she is at least a 12! All the other cats in the house know enough to get out of my way, after all, I am the king of the house! But she thinks her sh*t doesn't stink and she struts around the house with her nose and her tail up in the air and won't even give me the time of day! So, I get even. I just love scaring the crap out of her! :-) I figured out that if she is walking through the living room, I can come up on her from the other side of the chair and just start running at her full speed. It is so much fun to watch her try to get a grip on the slippery floor! Then I go into a slide and she just keeps on running! It is worth all the yelling from my owners! They think I stop because they yell. I stop just because I love to slide on the floor! It's the best! But the best, is nighttime, when everyone has settled in all snug in their beds, and Oreo thinks she can sneak up on the bed without me knowing it. I wait until she gets up and thinks she is nice and safe, starts to lay down on her blanket at the end of the bed, and that's when I strike! I can make everyone jump out of bed with just one bark! Talk about POWER! I am awesome!

Welcome To My Blog!

My name is Rusty and they call me Rah Rah. I am a bossy little thing and I live with 3 other dogs, 4 cats and a Rabbit. I love to bark at everything and nothing! I tend to get in a little bit of trouble and can't wait to share my adventures with you!

Here I lay, all curled up on my blanket. What a great day today was! Got up a little late, went outside to pee and barked just enough to annoy my owners! Then I ate breakfast and went back to bed with my mom for a little while! Ah, the life! Dad left for work and mom just straightened up the house and stuff. Got to play outside and chase my big sister around while the old dog went and got her haircut! At least she wasn’t around to yell at me! I just love barking at everyone! My owners think I don’t know what I am barking at, but don’t you worry! I know exactly what I am doing! Annoying them and bossing the other dogs around. I tell them exactly what I want when I bark and they do it just to shut me up! I Told you I know what I am doing! But now, after dinner, just sitting and relaxing, chasing that stuck up black and white cat, I am content to just lie here by my dad and let everyone do their thing and listen to “the boy” play his drums. Love the vibrations on the floor. Feels good on my full belly!
