Summer Days!

Yes, I know, It has been a while...yell at my Mom! She does all the typing for me anyway.

So, summer is here, hot, lazy days. Would someone tell my parents that is how it is supposed to be? You aren't supposed to lay 2 cubic yards of mulch in 90+ degree weather! No, that is when you sit in the pool, put your cute, sweet little dog in a tube in there with you, and float around to your heart's content!

But seriously, I love summer, friends stopping in to have a drink, nice, long walks around the yard, Sadie swimming in the pond and digging rocks out (how she does that, I won't even guess!), sitting by a fire in the evening.

Tonight, the boy is having a bonfire with a bunch of friends...another great sign of summer! Lots of people who will want to pet me too! Can't wait!

June is a busy month

WOW! This month is just flying by! Mom and Dad are so busy at work, and with the boy, it seems like they never have time to rub my belly! The boy is busy with end of year stuff at school, and even though the girl is home from college, she seems to be working all the time. No wonder Daddy doesn't like June! I know he would rather be home petting me and throwing the ball. But, I try to understand and to help. I have made sure that they spend extra time with me; I take a RRReeaallYY long time to eat my food, I make sure I stay outside a lot longer than the other dogs, and I wake Dad and Mom up extra early in the morning, just so they can spend more time with me! I sure hope they appreciate it! Pretty soon, it will be July and life will be calmer, and hotter!

When is this hot weather going to end?!

It is so hot! I can't stand it! I usually like to cuddle with Mom and Dad, or under the covers, but the past couple of days, I AM HOT! What is it? Am I am going to turn 2 this year, maybe I am getting old? Anyway, It is so hard to stay cool right now! I am sweating, I heard Mom and Dad say it was 93 degrees yesterday, and today was even hotter. I don't like it this hot, Lucie doesn't want to play, Sam doesn't want to play, Sadie is grumpy and I don't even want to play. When is this hot weather going to end!?

Slippery Floors!

They put in new floors and they ar making my life difficult. I can't seem to get a grip on them. I will be chasing Oreo or Abbie and when I hit that floor, I go flying! I need to learn how to use that to my advantage! I am sure I will figure it out. But it does make it difficult to jump up onto our beds (I mean couches). Guess Mom and Dad are going to have to listen to us whine until they pick us up. They are very slow to train, but Lucie and I are working on them!

Prom Night

Last night was Prom Night. There were all these pretty girls here, and everyone loved me! (Of Course!) I am so glad the boy has nice friends. They all came in and couldn't wait to pet me and let me sit on their laps! One of the girls just kept coming back for more! She was my favorite! But, the kids were so much fun. Even the guys were great! They played music and video games and had lots of fun together. The girl had her talkative friend come over too. I like listening to them talk, they go nonstop and are a blast! I hope there is a prom next weekend too, I just love having all the company!

Katie

See the thinks I have to put up with. Boy, living with cats isn't easy. Katie had the nerve to lay on MY couch! Can you believe it? Then, when I asked her to move, she just layed there! So I climbed up and laid down to stake my claim and then, of all things, she started cleaning me! Good thing my brothers weren't looking! I wouldn't be able to live it down. But, I have to admit, it felt kind of nice to get my ears cleaned. Just don't tell anyone!

Changes!

There are changes again! I don't like changes!

Mom and Dad went shopping this morning...came home with a new TV, TV stand and computer desk, then spent three hours putting it all together! Ok, So how do I know which room to lay in? The new TV, or the old? Where Sam is, so we can keep each other warm, or where Lucie is, just because I want to bug her?! I really like the picture on the new TV, but I like the old TV too? I am so confused! But don't you worry, I was right there helping them put everything together...I know they couldn't do it without my help. I read the directions for Dad, and then helped him put it all together. I know, I am such a good Dog!

You know what really bothered me the most? They didn't bring anything home for me! Can you believe it? They even bought Blue Bird Houses, But Nothing For ME! Do they like the birds better than they like me?

The weather is so warm today, I heard Dad say it reached 84! Summer must be here! Talk about a beautiful day to spend outside? It was wonderful!

Spring!

I love this weather...we have been outside, playing in the yard, almost all day! Dad is driving around on the 4 wheeler with this big, round thing behind him...heard mom say it was doing a good job flattening out the yard? What does that mean..

Anyway, we went outside to play, and I was yelling at the neighbor kids playing across the street, and Mean Mom put the bark collar on me. WTH!!! Doesn't she know I am the only one who can keep the neighbors in line? They can't keep walking by our house and playing in their yards like they have been. Someone needs to set some limits for them! Boy, she doesn't realize how out of control they are going to get if I can't talk to them.

So, I spent the afternoon laying in the sun on the back deck. Boy, this is a rough life for a dog!

Walk Today?

Sadie feels better...it has stopped raining, although the sun still is not out. I really want to go for a walk today. I love this time of year, not too hot, not too cold. Perfect walking weather. Maybe Mom and Dad will walk today since Sadie feels better.

Sadie Doesn't Feel Well

What's up with this? Sadie has been throwing up all day, so all we get with 53 degrees and sunshine is playing through the yard? I want to go for a walk!!! I know Sadie doesn't feel well, and really, I feel bad, but I want to go out and explore! What is up with that! It is wonderful outside!! Come on Sadie, get with it!

OK, and what is with this Wii thing? Dad has already hit Katie and Zach with it? Why is it so fun? I want to play too!!!

I think they figured it out!

I went for a walk today, just me and Mom...and I was having so much fun, I forgot to pull on the leash and pretend like I was choking...do you think she knows I was faking it the other day...

Mom said it was cold out, so we only walked for a mile or so. Sadie was at the groomers, so it was just me and MOM...that was awesome! I rarely get one on one time. But I was so excited, there were so many smells, the neighbor dogs were trying to get me to come an play... I forgot to pretend that I cannot stand the leash....darn!

I think Mom and Dad are on to me!

Going for a Walk!

I absolutely love going for walks! OMG! The smells that are out there in the world! Mom and Dad have been taking us for walks the past couple of nights, and it has been awesome! Tonight it was Sadie, Lucie and me and we had so much fun! (Although I did feel bad for Sam but Mom said he couldn't afford to use up the extra calories) Mom left Sam a bowl of ice instead!

There are so many kids and dogs in our neighborhood. They come over and pet me and I just love it! Then, while we were walking, Sadie found a piece of Easter chocolate! I was so jealous! But Dad yelled, Mom took it out of her mouth and so I figured she must be in some kind of trouble. Glad it wasn't me, cuz Dad said it wasn't good for her...

The only problem is, they make us wear these things called leashes???!!! I hate it! It makes me choke and gag and I can't go where I really want to go. What is their problem? Tonight, the neighbor dog was walking behind us and growling and I couldn't go and bark back at him. Besides, it makes me choke...what is up with that? Why can't I walk where I want to walk, life just isn't fair!!

Spring is here!

Signs of Spring are all around...I can see grass, Sam is uncovering more poop, Lucie is finding the bird seed that has been hiding all winter under the snow and Sadie has a new spring in her step, wanting to play ball and chasing the squirrels into the woods. I love this time of year! It stays light later, and the weather is warmer, but I really love the wind! The way it blows my ears back, sends leaves racing across the yard, and just brings all these wonderful smells into the yard for me to check out! Spring is Here!

This is the Life!

Boy, this is the life! It may be cold outside, but laying here, safe and snug inside, the sun feels really great! The only problem is that I have to share the sunshine with all these other animals! I wonder why Dad and Mom don't like to lay here with us? I wouldn't lick their faces, really, I wouldn't...but I can't promise what Sam and Lucie would do. So, I decided to let Katie lay with us. She said she would clean my ears if I let her have Prime Spot in the sunshine! What a deal! I think I got the better of her, but she doesn't realize it. The only problem is that Zach (the tough cat) decided he wants to lay with us too. He is really pushy! How dare he think he can take up some of my sunshine!

Dad took us outside today, it was a lot colder out there than it looked. He cleaned up some of the yard (wouldn't let Sam help!), but got mad at me when I kept warning the neighbors not to come to close! They really should know just how tough I am. I do have a house to protect, you know...

Who Says Cats are Smarter than Dogs???

Mom was nice enough to take this picture for me. This is Abby, she is one of the four PITA's, I mean cats, that live with me. Every morning Abby thinks she is so cool because she can jump in the tub and she usually makes sure to do it while I am watching because she knows my short legs will never make it. Most mornings, it is empty...but boy did she get a surprise this morning!!! :-D And she wasn't very happy about it either! That'll show her!

It's Raining!

It is raining today, not only is it raining, it is pouring! I was outside an hour ago, and look at my hair, it is still wet and sticking up! You would think Mom or Dad would blow it dry for me, but Noooo, they just look at me and laugh and make fun of me. Don't they realize that hurts my feelings? I pride myself on how good I look and I really don't appreciate being made fun of. They don't make fun of Lucie's hair (of course it really doesn't look any different!). We were supposed to get a snowstorm, but instead, we got all this rain. I can't even walk outside without my tail getting soaking wet. I don't think I have ever seen so much water in my life!

Laying in the Sun

What a nice day out today! We had sunshine, snow on the ground and Dad Snowblowing! It was so relaxing laying in the sun, getting a tan, chasing the cats away so they didn't get a sunburn, good thing I am around to protect them! Then, Dad went outside and snowblowed a path for us to play in! Good thing too, cuz Lucie is a baby and doesn't like to run through the deep snow. I can though, cuz I am bigger than her! I just love playing outside in the snow, everything is clean and white, I can follow the squirrels path better and sometimes the snow is deep enough that we don't get zapped on the invisible fence and I can make it all the way to the woods, although, not today, sadly...but we still had fun out there. Now, Dad and Mom are relaxing and watching the race and life is good, we can all curl up on the couch, snuggle with them and keep warm. My kind of day!

Wrestling!

I just wanted to show you how much fun my house is on a Sunday Morning! I know that EVERYONE in the family looks forward to watching Lucie and I wrestle, especially at 7:00 in the morning! Great way to start your day :-D

Now you can also see my brother Sam, he is just watching this time, but usually, he is right in the middle of things, and boy is he a good wrestler, he can pin me with only half a paw! What a BLAST! Come join us!

Squirrels!!!

Let me tell you about the squirrels that have been coming to our yard. There are at least 8 of them and they are terrible creatures. Can you believe that they will not listen to me? They won't get off the bird feeders no matter how much I bark at them. They even sit there looking at me as if to tease me! I know they are laughing because of the invisible barrier that I can't seem to get through...the one Sam gets nose prints all over. I have decided to make it my mission today to bark as much as possible at these squirrels and scare the crap out of them so that maybe they will stay out of my yard and stop teasing me and my brothers and sister.

So what is this Valentine's Day all About anyway?

I hear today is Valentine's Day...Anyone want to explain...

All I can figure is that everyone is getting treats but us dogs! What is up with that? Now, I know chocolate isn't good for us dogs, but a little piece once in a while can't hurt, can it? And all these hugs and niceness...gosh, makes me want to puke! All that is important is that there is someone around to rub my belly...think you can manage that? And a little trip back into the woods wouldn't hurt either, just don't tell Mom and Dad, OK?
